Portland High School will hold its annual golf scramble at Riverside Golf Course on Saturday. The tournament benefits the basketball and soccer programs at Portland High. The Maine USATF fall cross country series continues at Smiling Hill Farm in Westbrook on Sunday. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m., a course walk will be held at 1 p.m. and the race is at 2 p.m. The meet is the second of seven preliminary meets leading up to the state championships in November. The entry fee is $4, and USATF registration is also required and available at the meet ($15 for youths, $30 for adults). Ribbons will be awarded in several age categories. The PT8K road race will be held Sunday, Oct. 17, at 9 a.m. at Brunswick High School. The entry fee through Oct. 2 is $20 for those who want a T-shirt or $12 without a shirt. Visit www.mainetrackclub.com to register or for more details.

Central Maine Community College will hold its alumni basketball games on Oct. 23. All former players are encouraged to participate. The current women’s team will face the alumni women at 1 p.m., followed by the junior varsity men against alumni men from 1980-2000 at 3 p.m., and the varsity men against alumni men from 2000-10 at 5 p.m. For more information, call 755-5251.
