Republican challenger Dean Scontras has moved up in the latest Maine Poll, but still trails incumbent Rep. Chellie Pingree, D-1st District, by 15 percentage points with less than three weeks remaining before Election Day.

In the telephone poll conducted Sunday and Monday of 305 registered voters in Maine’s 1st Congressional District, 48 percent said they would vote for Pingree and 33 percent for Scontras, a businessman from Eliot running in his first general election. Eighteen percent of voters remain undecided.

In two previous Maine Polls, taken in September and early October, Pingree led by 53-29 and 54-26, respectively.
