WALDOBORO — The Waldoboro Police Department is calling on the public for help in locating a Waldoboro fisherman, who has been missing for nearly a month.

Peter Collins, a commercial fisherman, who lives on Wagner Bridge Road, was last seen leaving his mother’s home in Waldoboro during the early morning hours of Sept. 19, according to Police Chief Bill Labombarde.

Collins, 47, told his mother that he would return the following day. He has several medical problems and does not have his medication, Labombarde said.

Collins has been known to travel between Waldoboro and the New Bedford, Mass., area where he works for various commercial fishing companies on their boats.

He drives a forest green, 1999 GMC Denali sports utility vehicle bearing Maine license plate number 549-ABL.

Anyone with information concerning his disappearance is asked to contact the Waldoboro police at 832-4500.
