AUGUSTA — Paul LePage, Republican gubernatorial candidate, is ahead in yet another poll released today, four days before the election.

The Pan Atlantic SMS Group poll shows LePage receiving support from 37 percent of respondents and independent candidate Eliot Cutler ahead of Democrat Libby Mitchell, 31 percent to 22 percent. Independent candidates Shawn Moody and Kevin Scott were at 3 percent and 1 percent, respectively. About 7 percent of voters are still undecided, according to the independent poll.

The poll used live interviewers to survey 400 likely voters statewide, over three nights – from Monday to Wednesday. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percent.

The Pan Atlantic poll was conducted independently of any campaign.

About 51 percent of respondents said they supported or were leaning toward supporting allowing a a casino in Oxford County, versus about 47 percent who said they oppose it. About 3 percent are undecided.

The Maine Poll results, conducted by Critical Insights for MaineToday Media, are scheduled for release later today.
