PORTLAND — Writer Chris Sorensen has won the 2010 Scriptsation Screenwriting competition, put on by The Maine Studios and the Maine Film Collaborative.
Sorensen won $500 for his short screenplay “Double or Nothing” and now The Maine Studios will consider producing it, according to a press release from the studio.
Other winning scripts recognized in the contest included: Jeff Palmer’s “Sleeping Deep” (Best Horror Feature); Ted Pedersen’s “White Lies” (Best Comedy Feature); Jennifer Harrison’s “Go, East” (Best Dramatic Feature); Cheryl Miller’s “Fairies Landing” (Best Family Feature); and Daniel Stupnagel’s “The Caves of Carora” (Best Action Feature).
Other shorts that were recognized were Michael Pallota’s “The Lady Stanforth” (Best Short Horror), and John Truesdale’s “Max and Harry” (Best Short Comedy).
