Safe Passage open house

Safe Passage will hold its annual open house from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at 81 Bridge St.

The event will feature a presentation by Liz Love, former adult literacy coordinator in Guatemala. There will be snacks and baked goods, as well as unique gifts such as calendars, jewelry, note cards, Guatemalan coffee and crafts.

Party followed by potluck

The historical society will hold its annual holiday party from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Old Town House, Route 9.

Guests can decorate the tree and make crafts and cookies.

A potluck supper will follow at 5 p.m. at Wescustogo Hall on Route 115. Local Circus will perform, followed by a tree lighting ceremony with the North Yarmouth Community Band. After, the Walnut Hill Garden Club will serve cookies and other baked goods. Santa may appear.

The Maine Essential Tremor Support Group will meet from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Maine Medical Center’s Scarborough Campus, 100 Campus Drive.

The group is led by a person who has tremors, with support from the International Essential Tremor Foundation. It is the group’s first meeting.
