Scattered wind gusts reaching up to 50 miles per hour caused several hundred homeowners in Cumberland and York counties to lose electrical power tonight.

Central Maine Power Co. reported that more than 3,300 customers had lost power as of 9:30 p.m.. Most of those affected homes – about 2,300 – were located in York County, though Cumberland County had 785 outages.

The National Weather Service in Gray issued a wind advisory Wednesday night, but said winds should subside after midnight.
