NEW FACES

Kevin Stewart joined Fluid Imaging Technologies Inc. as a customer support specialist. Stewart, of Portland, recently graduated from the University of Maine in Farmington. 

Harry Poole joined Shamrock Sports Group as the account manager for USA Ski Jumping. Poole is a recent graduate of Bates College, where he studied American Cultural Studies. 

PROMOTIONS

Tom Kelly was named state director for Spectrum Health Systems. Kelly was an addictions counselor and clinical supervisor for the past five years. He will oversee Spectrum’s substance abuse programming at the Maine Correctional Center in Windham, Maine State Prison in Warren, and at the Hallowell Pre-Release Center.

Matt Gutshall, a client specialist at Northeast Bank’s Lewiston Gateway Branch, received the Young Professionals of the Lewiston Auburn Area’s Community Involvement Award. Gutshall, of Lewiston, volunteers more than 800 hours a year to the Big Brother Big Sisters program and oversees many of the organization’s fundraising events. He also volunteers for special community events including Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society.

GENERAL

Down East Credit Union opened a new branch on Main Street in Topsham. 

Rock radio station WKIT 100.3 in Bangor held a contest last month and gave winning listeners $100 a day to heat their homes. The daily winners were entered into a grand prize drawing to win $1,000 toward heating costs. The grand prize winner was Alyson Dewildt of Stetson. 

St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion Rehab Center received a three-year accreditation for its inpatient rehabilitation — skilled nursing program. The accreditation represents the highest level that can be awarded to an organization. St. Mary’s is a nonprofit organization that provides skilled rehabilitation in the Lewiston and Auburn area. 

Maine Rural Partners named Maine’s Department of Economic and Community Development as 2010 Partner of the Year. The award is given to the organization that demonstrates the greatest degree of collaboration within any of MRP’s activity areas during the past year. Chris Roberts of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development also received an individual merit award for her commitment to rural Maine.
