BURLINGTON, Vt. – Erin Wente scored her second goal of the game 1:57 into overtime as Vermont defeated the University of Maine 4-3 in a women’s hockey game on Saturday.

Danielle Ward scored twice for the Black Bears (7-7-3) against the Catamounts (2-8-8), and Dawn Sullivan added two assists.

HOLY CROSS 1, USM 0: Caroline English scored 12 seconds into overtime to lift the Crusaders (8-2-0, 6-1-0 ECAC East) over the Huskies (1-6-1, 1-5-1) at Gorham.

Monique Gallant made 18 saves for the shutout. Jordan Lee had 28 saves for Southern Maine.

HAMILTON 4, COLBY 3: Abby Runyon scored the winning goal as the Continentals (3-4, 3-3 NESCAC) overcame a 3-0 deficit to defeat the Mules (2-4, 1-4) at Waterville.

Hamilton scored three goals in a span of 4:59 in the third period.

Annie Papadellis had a goal and assist for Colby.

BOWDOIN 4, CONN. COLLEGE 3: Mallory Andrews scored the winning goal as the Polar Bears (4-2-0) beat the Camels (3-3-0) at Brunswick.

Kayte Holtz and Kim Tess-Wanat each had a goal and an assist for Bowdoin.

Former NYA standout Courtney Dumont had a goal and an assist for Connecticut College.

MEN

BOWDOIN 3, CASTLETON STATE 2: Richard Nerland made 36 saves as the Polar Bears (4-1, 3-1 NESCAC/ECAC) held off the Spartans (4-2, 2-2) at Rutland, Vt.

Jeff Fanning and Kyle Hanson scored first-period goals for Bowdoin, and Aaron O’Callahan scored at 7:19 of the second as the Polar Bears opened a 3-0 lead.

WILLIAMS 7, USM 1: Bryden McGhee scored twice and Cody Skinner had a goal and two assists to help the Ephs (6-0-1, 4-0 NESCAC/ECAC) down the Huskies (2-4-1, 1-3) at Gorham.

Jason Olson scored for USM.

COLBY 3, SKIDMORE 3: Julian Malakorn scored with 5:12 left to give the Thoroughbreds (3-3-1) a tie with the White Mules (2-3-1) at Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

Michael Doherty, Chris Buonomo and Michael Smigelski scored for Colby.

MIDDLEBURY 7, UNE 1: Charles Nerbak scored three goals and Louis Belisle had two goals and an assist to lead the Panthers (2-4) past the Nor’easters (1-5) at Biddeford.

Kyle MacLennan scored for UNE and Mike Roper made 37 saves.
