SOUTH PORTLAND – A water main break is affecting traffic on Route 1.
Route 1 between New York Avenue and Kenosha Lane is reduced to two lanes of traffic rather than its usual four, according to the Portland Water District.
Construction is expected to last until 8 p.m. Commuters are advised to seek alternate routes.
The water district said the cause of the break is not known. About 10 customers, including the Wok Inn, are without water.
