Early music concerts to mark the season

THE ST. MARY SCHOLA, an ensemble of 12 singers accompanied by violins, cello and harpsichord, will present “Nowell Sing We” throughout the region. The concert of seasonal early music features medieval English carols, Spanish cantigas, the famous organum “Viderunt” by Perotin, a Corelli Church sonata and concerted motets by Schutz and Monteverdi.

Two perspectives in ‘Forest City Times’

KIDS AND COPS team up for “Forest City Times” at Portland Public Library. The program includes two original plays: “The Weeping City,” a youth play by Portland high school students exploring their relationship with police, and “Radio Calls,” a play by Portland police officers about their lives, work and interactions with Portland youth.
