BIDDEFORD — Some residents in Biddeford were without water last night, and some may be without water today, due to two separate water main breaks in the city.

The break on Main Street has been repaired, according to the Biddeford and Saco Water Company. The portion of Main Street from Alfred to Water streets will remain closed until crews fix the sink hole that occurred because of the break.

Crews are also looking into a report of a water main break at the corner of Dupont Avenue and Prospect Street. The water company said once the problem is identified, water may be shut off to area residents for a period of time while the break is repaired. Traffic is not expected to be affected in this area.
