In Portland, the Oxford Street Shelter is opening several hours earlier than usual over the next few days, at 1 p.m.

WSCH-TV reports Portland’s Homeless Outreach and Mobile Engagement teams will be on the street throughout the weekend, looking for the homeless and others who may need shelter.

The National Weather Service says an arctic air mass is starting to move into the region today. The brunt of the cold air will be felt tonight through Monday night, where highs and lows will be well below normal.
