RANGELEY — There’s a fresh layer of snow for snowmobilers who want to show off their stuff today at the annual “Snodeo” event in Rangeley.
Snowmobile operators will participate in several showcase events on the final day of the three-day event. One fulfills the need for speed with snowmobile operators seeing how fast they can go on frozen Rangeley Lake. Last year, one snowmobile was clocked at 130.3 mph.
The other is the X Rave freestyle event, in which snowmobiles operators show off their tricks and aerial stunts while jumping off ramps.
The event caps off late this afternoon with a snowmobile parade, awards presentation and fireworks.
