SOUTH BERWICK — Jorden Mitchell and Tatum Schladenhauffen combined for 11 points in the second quarter as Marshwood took control on its way to a 53-47 victory over Thornton Academy in an SMAA girls’ basketball game Monday night.

The Hawks (5-6) used a 19-11 run in the second quarter to take a 30-22 halftime lead.

Mitchell finished with 15 points and Schladenhauffen had 12.

Lauren Titus led Thornton (3-9) with 17 points. Meghan Agger chipped in 11.

 

SOUTH PORTLAND 51, KENNEBUNK 23: Abby Hasson was 8 for 8 from the free-throw line and finished with 14 points to lead the Red Riots (8-3) past the Rams (0-11) at Kennebunk.

Haley McCracken added 10 points.

Sam Carey grabbed 11 rebounds for Kennebunk.

 

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 29, POLAND 18: Alicia Valente scored 10 points and Meghan Dehetre grabbed 10 rebounds for the Patriots (7-5) in a win over the Knights (2-9) at Gray.

Maggie Chaplin contributed nine points for the Patriots. Emily Bolduc led Poland with eight points.

SACOPEE VALLEY 49, BUCKFIELD 27: Kristen Lyle scored 10 points, and Catherine Murch and Amanda Villineau each added eight for the Hawks (5-5) in a win over the Bucks (2-9) at Buckfield.

Dakota Warren paced Buckfield with nine points.

 

GEORGES VALLEY 61, WINTHROP 44: Jill Bradbury and Jessica Veilleux combined for 13 points in the fourth quarter as the Buccaneers (8-5) used a 20-8 run to pull away at Winthrop (6-7).

Veilleux finished with 18 points and eight rebounds, and Bradbury had 14 points and nine rebounds. Kennadi Grover chipped in 15 points and six assists.

Sasha Flaherty and Nikki Scott scored 14 apiece for the Ramblers.

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 57, WISCASSET 31: Kristine Kahl had 11 points and 11 rebounds to help the Mustangs (5-8) beat visiting Wiscasset (1-12).

The Mustangs finished the second quarter with 10 unanswered points to go up 28-15, then outscored Wiscasset 19-4 in the third.

Kayla Connors had 10 points for Wiscasset.

 

HALL-DALE 56, BOOTHBAY 44: Carylanne Wolfington scored 17 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs (12-1) past the Seahawks (6-7) at Boothbay Harbor.

Taylor Massey added 12 points, and Wendy Goldman had nine points and seven rebounds.

Sarah Caron scored 18 points and Meghan Smith finished with 11 for Boothbay.

 

GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 38, ISLESBORO 17: Liz Garland scored 11 points for the Lions (7-3) in their win over the Eagles (1-12) at South Portland.

Suzie Gonzalez added eight points for the Lions, who opened a 14-2 lead in the first quarter.

Lindsay Durkee led Islesboro with six points.
