BOSTON – St. Joseph’s built a seven-point halftime lead and held off Emerson for a 58-53 victory Thursday night in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference men’s basketball game.

Tyler Kelley had 13 points and nine rebounds to lead the Monks (12-5, 9-1 GNAC), who used an 18-9 surge late in the first half on the way to a 28-21 lead.

Matthew Medeiros and Zach O’Brien each scored 11 for St. Joseph’s.

Alex Dempsey and Nathan Firn had 10 points apiece for the Lions (7-9, 4-5).

REGIS 66, UNE 64: Ryan Chambers hit a 35-foot bank shot at the final buzzer to lift the Pride (12-6, 5-1 Commonwealth Coast) over the Nor’easters (2-16, 0-6) at Biddeford.

UNE overcame a 60-55 deficit in the final 2:38, taking a 64-63 lead on a 3-pointer by Marcus Winn with 4.4 seconds left.

Charles Fenner led the Nor’easters with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Winn added 16 points.

SOUTHERN MAINE CC 100, UM-AUGUSTA 66: Coleman Findlay had 17 points to lead the Seawolves (13-10) in a victory at South Portland.

Daniel Foster and Josh Micke each scored 16 points for SMCC.

(3) DUKE 84, BOSTON COLLEGE 68: Nolan Smith had 28 points and Seth Curry scored a season-high 20, leading Duke (19-1, 6-1 ACC) past Boston College (14-7, 4-3) at Durham, N.C.

Corey Raji had 18 points and Joe Trapani scored 14 for BC.

INDIANA 52, (20) ILLINOIS 49: Jordan Hulls scored 12 of his 18 points in the second half, and Tom Pritchard’s tip-in with 44.2 seconds left helped Indiana (11-10, 2-6 Big Ten) upset Illinois (14-7, 4-4) at Bloomington, Ind.

MICHIGAN 61, (25) MICHIGAN STATE 57: Zack Novak scored 19 points and Stu Douglass hit a big 3-pointer with 20 seconds left, lifting Michigan (12-9, 2-6 Big Ten) over Michigan State (12-8, 4-4) at East Lansing, Mich.

SOUTH CAROLINA 57, (20) GEORGIA 48: Courtney Newton shot 5 of 5 on 3-pointers and finished with 16 points as South Carolina (12-9, 4-4 SEC) upset visiting Georgia (16-4, 6-1).

(21) FLORIDA STATE 102, BOSTON COLLEGE 93: Cierra Bravard scored 11 of her 21 points in the final 61/2 minutes and Alexa Deluzio hit two key 3-pointers, helping Florida State (17-4, 5-1 ACC) hold off Boston College (15-6, 2-4) at Boston.

MICHIGAN 69, (24) OHIO STATE 66: Rachel Sheffer scored five of her 23 points down the stretch and Michigan (13-7, 6-2 Big Ten) rallied from a 14-point deficit to beat Ohio State (13-7, 4-4) at Columbus, Ohio.
