NAPLES — Adam Jensen scored 32 points Tuesday night to lead Gray-New Gloucester to a 59-52 victory against Lake Region in a Western Maine Conference schoolboy basketball game.

The Patriots (9-6), who are ranked ninth in Western Class B with the top nine making the tournament, used a 15-8 run in the third period to extend a 28-26 halftime lead to 43-34.

John Farynaz had nine points, and Ryan Cavallaro and Heath Martell each added six for the Patriots.

Kevin Gilson had 20 points, followed by Alex Hartford with 14 and Mike Triglione with 10 for Lake Region (4-11).

 

YARMOUTH 77, FREEPORT 16: Josh Britten scored 21 points, and Matt Murphy finished with 16 points and nine rebounds as the Clippers (12-3) handled the Falcons (0-15) at Yarmouth.

Britten and Murphy each made four 3-pointers, and Luke Pierce added nine points for Yarmouth, which had 11 players score at least one point.

 

ISLESBORO 69, PINE TREE ACADEMY 43: D.J. Johnson scored a game-high 23 points for the Eagles (14-2) against the Breakers (1-15) at Freeport.

Jason Hatch added 18 points and Gerard Scherr had 12 for Islesboro.

Tim McGuire scored 22 points to lead Pine Tree Academy.

WAYNFLETE 64, A.R. GOULD 61: Joe Veroneau scored 17 points as the Flyers (10-5) defeated the Bears (8-6) in overtime at South Portland.

Alex Hadiaris added 16 points and Max Belleau closed with 11 for Waynflete.

Steve Lyons had 16 points for the Bears, who outscored Waynflete 19-10 in the fourth quarter to force overtime. George Hopkins had 15 points, eight assists and seven steals, and Moses Losuk added 11 points and 13 rebounds.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

FREEPORT 44, YARMOUTH 24: Morgan Brown scored 10 points as the Falcons (5-10) defeated the Clippers (1-14) at Yarmouth.

Leigh Wyman had nine points, Aubrey Pennell added seven and Katie Poulin scored six for Freeport.

Olivia Harrison had eight points and Monica Austin finished with seven for Yarmouth.

 

ISLESBORO 25, PINE TREE ACADEMY 20: Autumn Johnson scored eight points and Allana Gouvoni finished with seven for the Eagles (2-14) against the Breakers (2-11) at Freeport.

Rebecca Moore-Myshall led Pine Tree with 11 points.
