AUGUSTA — Robert Berry III has been named president of Main-Land Development Consultants Inc., the firm owned by state Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Darryl Brown.
Berry takes over for Brown to run the day-to-day operations, according to a statement from the company. Brown will continue to own the business, but will not be involved “in any way, shape or form,” Berry said in an interview.
Brown was sworn-in earlier this week as head of the state DEP.
Main-Land Development Consultants is based in Livermore Falls and provides land use planning services including surveying, soils testing, mapping, engineering, permitting and wastewater design. It was recently named site developer for the new resort casino in Oxford.
