YORK – Nicole Taylor scored nine of her 15 points in the third quarter Thursday night as York, after a rare early-game challenge, pulled away to a 62-30 victory against Traip Academy in a Western Maine Conference schoolgirl basketball game.

The Wildcats (14-0) led just 12-9 after the first quarter and 26-17 at halftime before putting the game away with a 22-4 run in the third quarter.

Emily Campbell and Addison LaBonte added 10 points each for York. Selena Lorrey scored 13 and Sarah Orr 10 for the Rangers (8-6).

WESTBROOK 53, NOBLE 37: Katelyn Benson scored eight of her 15 points in the first quarter as the Blue Blazes (4-10) took a 20-8 lead against the Knights (2-13) at Westbrook.

Jessica Harris added nine points for the Blazes, who were up 33-12 at the half.

Amber Kelly scored 11 for Noble.

FALMOUTH 60, POLAND 41: Jenna Serunian had 13 points and 15 rebounds to power the Yachtsmen (8-6) past the Knights (2-13) at Falmouth.

Jessie DiPhilippo added 13 points and Ashleigh Burton had 10 for Falmouth.

Emily Bolduc led Poland with 13 points.

GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 47, HEBRON ACADEMY 38: Liz Garland scored 16 points and Andrea Ruiz finished with 15 for the Lions (10-4), who recovered from a 23-21 halftime deficit to down the Lumberjacks (7-8) at Hebron.

Greater Portland Christian took command with a 14-2 run in the third quarter.

Janelle Bradish paced Hebron with 24 points.

GORHAM 49, BIDDEFORD 34: Mia Rapolla scored 24 points as the Rams (11-3) handled the Tigers (4-11) at Biddeford.

Natalie Egbert finished with 11 points for Gorham, which led 36-22 after three quarters.

Keila Grigware had 11 points for the Tigers.

CHEVERUS 53, MARSHWOOD 48: Morgan Cahill finished with 16 points, Alexandra Palazzi-Leahy added 11 and Britni Mikulanecz 10 to lead the Stags (12-2) past the Hawks (6-8) at South Berwick.

Aubrey Folger led Marshwood with 20 points. Jorden Mitchell added 11.

JAY 49, GEORGES VALLEY 41: Alexis Blodgett made three 3-pointers and finished with 15 points, and Bethany Moore scored 14 as the Tigers (13-3) beat the Buccaneers (8-8) at Thomaston.

LAKE REGION 42, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 33: Sydney Hancock scored 14 points and Hannah Cutting added 12 as the Lakers (13-2) downed the Patriots (9-6) at Naples.

In the fourth quarter, Hancock hits her team’s only 3-pointer and Lake Region made its free throws.

MASSABESIC 55, BONNY EAGLE 47: Cassidy Mathieu scored a game-high 15 points and Emily Schatz added 14 for the Mustangs (6-8) against the Scots (7-8) at Waterboro.

Jessica MacDonald led Bonny Eagle with 11 points.

GREELY 58, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 25: Megan Coale keyed a defense that allowed seven second-half points as Greely (12-3) pulled away from a 25-18 halftime lead to beat the Raiders (5-10) at Cumberland.

Sarah Warnock led Greely with 18 points and eight rebounds, Jaclyn Storey added 11 points and four steals, and Coale had six steals.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 64, ROCKLAND 28: Lindsay Ranquist scored a game-high 18 points and had six steals for the Panthers (13-2) against the Tigers (0-15) at Waldoboro.

MT. ARARAT 45, ERSKINE ACADEMY 27: Molly Estes scored eight of her 12 points in the first half as Mt. Ararat (7-8) opened a 24-6 lead against Erskine Academy (2-13) at Topsham.

PORTLAND 50, SCARBOROUGH 43: Nicolette Kapothanasis scored 18 points as the Bulldogs (4-10) beat the Red Storm (3-11) at Portland.

Kapothanasis, who made 11 free throws, hit six foul shots in the fourth quarter.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 48, SACOPEE VALLEY 36: Gillian Foss and Anna Foss combined for 36 points to lead the Seagulls (8-8) past the Hawks (7-7) at South Hiram.

Old Orchard used a 15-7 second-quarter run to go up 21-17. Gillian Foss scored 11 of her 19 in the fourth quarter to help the Seagulls pull away.

SANFORD 65, KENNEBUNK 26: Shae Riley scored six of her 11 points and Taylor Flood added four of her 14 in the first quarter as the Redskins (11-3) opened a 16-5 lead against Kennebunk (0-14) at Sanford.

Sanford widened the lead to 31-18 at the half before outscoring the Rams 34-8 in the second half.

WISCASSET 43, TELSTAR 40: Becca Slack made two key free throws in the final minute as Wiscasset (3-13) edged the Rebels (0-16) at Bethel.

THORNTON ACADEMY 54, WINDHAM 41: Hannah Ebling scored 22 points as the Golden Trojans (6-9) upset the Eagles (9-5) at Saco.

Ebling scored six in the first quarter as Thornton opened a 15-6 lead. Meghan Agger added four of her 14 points in the period.

BIDDEFORD 4, LEWISTON 0: Jenna Roy had a goal and two assists, and Haley Reny added a goal and an assist to lead the Tigers (6-10-1) past the Blue Devils (4-11-2) at Biddeford.

EDWARD LITTLE-LEAV-ITT 2, FALMOUTH 1: Sabrina Lapointe scored from Sydney Nadeau with 1:35 left in overtime to lift Edward Little/Leavitt (9-7-1) over the Yachtsmen (7-10) at Falmouth.
