PORTLAND – Kayla Burchill scored 15 points Friday as Deering, one day following a classic overtime loss to McAuley, earned a 55-40 victory against Windham in a Southern Maine Activities Association girls’ basketball game.

The Rams (14-1) took a 26-21 halftime lead, then continued to pull away.

Gina Cirillo scored 14 points and Stephanie Frost added 13 for Windham (9-6).

WAYNFLETE 56, HYDE 32: Martha Veroneau scored nine of her 19 points in the first quarter as the Flyers (13-3) took a 19-5 lead and cruised past the Phoenix (3-9) at Portland.

Veroneau also had 12 steals and six assists, and Lydia Stegemann added 12 points for Waynflete.

GORHAM 46, CHEVERUS 39: Mia Rapolla went 5 of 6 from the foul line in the fourth quarter and finished with 26 points and 10 rebounds to help the Rams (12-3) hold off the Stags (12-3) at Gorham.

Natalie Egbert added 11 points for Gorham, which never trailed after taking the lead late in the third quarter.

Morgan Cahill paced Cheverus with 19 points.

GREELY 52, YARMOUTH 22: Megan Coale scored 11 points as Greely (13-3) cruised past Yarmouth (1-15) at Cumberland.

The Rangers shut out the Clippers in the second quarter to take a 28-6 halftime lead.

MT. ARARAT 84, LEWISTON 38: Mallory Nelson scored 20 points to lead Mt. Ararat (8-8) over the Blue Devils (0-15) at Lewiston.

THORNTON ACADEMY 52, MASSABESIC 30: Meghan Agger scored 18 points to lead the Golden Trojans (7-9) past the Mustangs (6-9) at Waterboro.

Hannah Ebling chipped in 13 points and Lauren Titus had 10 for Thornton, which led 28-16 at the half.

SOUTH PORTLAND 43, WESTBROOK 35: Abby Hasson scored 15 points and Danielle DiBiase added 13 to lead the Red Riots (10-5) past the Blue Blazes (4-11) at Westbrook.

South Portland closed the third quarter on an 8-0 run to rally from a six-point deficit.

Jessica Harris scored nine points to lead Westbrook.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 30, POLAND 28: Maggie Chap-lin and Alicia Valente scored seven points apiece to lead Gray-New Gloucester (10-6), which survived a 3-point shot that missed for the Knights (2-14) at the buzzer at Poland.

Morgan Copp paced Poland with 10 points.

TRAIP ACADEMY 61, FREEPORT 51: Selena Lorrey had 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead Traip Academy (9-6) over Freeport (5-11) at Kittery.

Sarah Orr added 13 points and seven steals, and Katherine Volpe had 13 points for the Rangers, who led 32-23 at halftime.

Katie Poulin paced the Falcons with 13 points.

SCARBOROUGH 53, KENNEBUNK 26: Brittany Bona scored five of her 12 points as the Red Storm (4-11) opened the second half with an 8-0 run to pull away from the Rams (0-15) at Kennebunk.

Taylor LeBorgne helped with 10 points.

Emily Bennett led the Rams with six points. Janelle Bouchard had 12 rebounds.

RICHMOND 47, SEACOAST CHRISTIAN 33: Jamie Plummer recorded game highs of 24 points and 17 rebounds for the Bobcats (14-1) against Seacoast Christian (8-6) at South Berwick.

Plummer scored eight points in the second quarter, but Richmond still trailed 25-24 at halftime.

Kirin Desmith led Seacoast Christian with 14 points.

YORK 58, CAPE ELIZABETH 15: Nicole Taylor scored 23 points for the Wildcats (15-0), who opened with a 15-3 run and beat the Capers (8-7) at Cape Elizabeth.

Emily Donovan led the Capers with eight points.

WELLS 48, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 33: Kelsey Bragdon scored 21 points for the Warriors (8-8), who opened with a 17-4 run and cruised past the Raiders (5-11) at Fryeburg.

Katie Heggie paced Fryeburg with 14 points.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 56, CAMDEN HILLS 35: Ericka Christensen had 23 points and 14 rebounds as the Panthers (14-2) pulled away from the Windjammers (8-8) at Waldoboro.

YORK 3, SCARBOROUGH 0: Nicci Heroux scored a pair of goals and assisted on a goal by Rachel Yorke to lift the Wildcats (12-3-2) over the Red Storm (12-3-2) at Gorham.

Olivia Drew made 18 saves for the shutout. Devan Kane stopped 17 shots for Scarborough.

GREELY 6, YARMOUTH 2: Meg Finlay had two goals and an assist for Greely (11-5-1), which took a 5-0 lead in the first two periods against the Clippers (4-12) at Yarmouth.

CeCi Hodgkins added a goal and two assists, and Etta Copenhagen had a goal and an assist.

Alicia Piccirillo and Courtney Barker each had a point for Yarmouth on its senior night. Ariel Potter and Piccirillo were the scorers.

CHEVERUS 3, GORHAM-BONNY EAGLE 1: Katie Roy scored twice to lead Cheverus (11-5-1) past Gorham/Bonny Eagle (0-16) at Portland.

Emily Sawchuck also scored for the Stags.

Rachel Litif scored and Carissa Farwell made 33 saves for Gorham-Bonny Eagle.
