BANGOR — A 49-year-old Maine woman on federal probation for making bomb threats is facing a charge she put a pillow over the face of an elderly nursing home resident in Bangor.

Police say they were called to Bangor Nursing and Rehabilitation on Sunday after receiving a report that a woman had tried to suffocate a woman in her 90s with a pillow.

Police say the suspect fled as meals were being delivered by home staff.

The elderly woman did not require medical attention.

Police say they later arrested Jodi Lynn Holmes of Bangor and charged her with felony aggravated assault.

Police did not offer a motive for the alleged attack or say if Holmes knew the elderly woman.

Holmes is being held on $25,000 bail. She’s due in court next month.
