PORTLAND — The Massachusetts-based Global Fight League is teaming up with Maine-based Bellum Combat Association to bring what could be the first mixed martial arts event to the state.
While other smaller promotions are also organizing their own events, Jason Leeman, who is director of operations for Bellum, has signed an agreement to put on a show at the Portland Expo on Friday, May 6.
Leeman said the show will feature professional and amateur bouts, with Portland’s Paul Gorman scheduled to headline the event. Gorman will take on Pedro Gonzalez of Rockport, Mass., for the 135-pound title.
The full fight card and ticketing information are expected to be announced soon.
