Maineiacs fail to overcome slow start in Montreal, 5-3

Trevor Parkes scored a pair of goals for the Montreal Juniors as they raced out to a 4-0 first period lead and held on for a 5-3 win over the Lewiston Maineiacs in a Quebec Major Junior Hockey League game on Monday morning in Montreal.

Lewiston cut the deficit to 4-3 behind goals from Pierre-Olivier Morin, Etienne Brodeur and Kirill Kabanov before Montreal added an empty-net goal.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL: O’Shea Bell had 21 points to lead Kents Hill (5-5) to a 66-48 win over Hyde (6-4) at Bath. 

Dennis Ross added 13 points for Kents Hill.

Ted Cercos scored 13 for Hyde.
