ORLAND — Maine State Police say a teenager was killed when she was struck by a plow truck while walking about 100 feet from her home in Orland.
Trooper Gregory Roy says a paramedic living nearby administered first aid Thursday night but 16-year-old Kimberly Hayes died at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
Roy says the driver of a pickup truck with a plow mounted on front reported that he didn’t see the girl, who was wearing dark clothes as she walked alongside the road.
Roy says no charges will be brought against the plow driver.
