BRUINS NOTES: Providence brings a four-game winning streak into the game. In four games against Portland this season, former Pirate Trent Whitfield has two goals and four assists. He has scored three goals along with four assists during the Bruins’ winning streak. Maxime Sauve has a seven-game points streak, while goalie Anton Khubodin has stopped 95 of 102 shots in the last four games.

PIRATES NOTES: Portland, which is 5-1-1-1 against the Bruins, has a five-game winning streak. Leading scorer Mark Mancari has nine goals against the Bruins, but he has spent the past week in the NHL with the parent Buffalo Sabres. Rookie Luke Adam has scored six goals in his last four games, while center Mark Voakes has scored a goal in each of his first three games with the Pirates. Marc-Andre Gragnani, who leads AHL defensemen in scoring, is on a five-game points streak. Goalie David Leggio has won 10 of his last 11 starts.
