BANGOR – Alex Furness of Wells scored 32 points Saturday to lead the West to a 105-83 victory against the East in the Senior All-Star game between boys representing Class A and Class B schools.

The game was one of four matching the state’s top seniors in the Maine McDonald’s high school all-star games at Husson University.

They came the day after the top high school honors were announced during a banquet, including Mr. and Miss Basketball.

Tyler McFarland of Camden Hills was named Mr. Basketball and Kayla Burchill of Deering captured Miss Basketball.

The East’s top scorers each came from schools that captured state championships last weekend: McFarland and Zach Blodgett of Bangor each had 16 points.

CLASS C/D BOYS: Joseph McCloskey of Penobscot Valley scored 25 points to lead the East to a 103-83 victory against the West.

Roger Bachelder of Monmouth Academy paced the West with 18 points.

CLASS A/B GIRLS: Mia Rapolla of Gorham scored 25 points to lead the West to a 108-83 victory.

Hillary Throckmorton of Bangor paced the East with 20 points.

CLASS C/D GIRLS: Cindy Schultz of Valley scored 19 points to lead the West to a 105-70 victory.

Rebecca Redding of Calais was the high scorer for the East with 15 points.
