FREEPORT — Freeport, Maine has been selected by the readers of Yankee Magazine as their favorite weekend getaway for shopping.
It’s the second consecutive year that the town, which is home to L.L. Bean’s flagship store as well as numerous outlet stores and hotels, has been recognized by the magazine, which is based in Dublin, N.H.
This year’s Best of New England categories included favorite ski resort, amusement park, and children’s museum.
