BIDDEFORD — Residents will have a final chance to weigh in on the HeartWorks Downtown Master Plan during a community forum scheduled for Monday.

The master planning project has been a partnership between the Heart of Biddeford, the Orton Family Foundation and the city. Since 2008, the partnership has hosted a series of neighborhood workshops and community meetings to garner input for a downtown master plan.

Throughout the process, a total of 34 meetings were held with over 350 participants sharing ideas for the city.

Those ideas have been sorted, organized and compiled and community members are being asked once again for their perspective. Those attending the community forum will at 6 p.m. Monday in the auditorium of Biddeford Middle School will be given keypads to vote and help prioritize the items in the master plan.

After this forum, the results will be compiled into a draft that is expected to be presented in a second forum to the community on April 11. The downtown master plan will then be reviewed by the City Council and is expected to be adopted into the city’s comprehensive plan.
