BIDDEFORD — Joyful Harvest Neighborhood Center has received a $15,000 grant from the United Way of York County.
The grant will help the faith-based organization continue offering after-school programs for youth between the ages of 5 and 17.
Located in a neighborhood where 35 percent of school age children live at or below the poverty level, the center has been providing a safe place for youth to gather, get healthy snacks, do homework and find a creative outlet for nearly a decade. Organizations like Girl Scouts and ArtVan Program have also used the space for alternate youth programming in the evenings.
