FARMINGTON – Three masked men, one armed with a gun, broke into a woman’s apartment Thursday night and made off with a laptop computer, police said.

The 22-year-old woman was not injured during the home invasion, Rachel Heseltine, a spokeswoman for the Farmington Police Department, said Friday.

It was shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday when the men entered the apartment, which police would only describe as being on High Street, near Academy Street.

The two streets form a block off Main Street in downtown Farmington.

“They came into her apartment through the unlocked door and let another man in through the living room window,” Heseltine said.

The three men were all wearing ski masks and one was carrying a firearm, police said.

Heseltine said police don’t know what kind of gun was allegedly involved and police did not receive any information that the men threatened the woman.

The woman, who was awake and alone at the time, was “made to go into another room while the men went through her apartment,” Farmington police said in a news release.

The woman called 911 when the men left after a few minutes, Heseltine said.

A K-9 unit tracked the suspects into the downtown, in the area of Hippach Field, Heseltine said. The field is a couple of blocks from the apartment.
