A water sport once again proved to be a big draw at the annual Spring Fling Beach Party at Shawnee Peak in Bridgton on Saturday.

Enthusiastic spectators took a break from spring skiing, a barbecue, live reggae music and snow volleyball to cheer on 75 skiers and boarders who tried to skim across a 100-foot-long pond in the Slush Cup competition. Those who didn’t make it had more than their spirits dampened.

But the party went on, as a great ski season was celebrated and warm-weather pursuits got a rousing welcome.
