ELLSWORTH — Maine Education Commissioner Stephen Bowen is continuing his “listening tour” with stops in Hancock County to hear from educators, teachers, students and parents.
Bowen is visiting schools, meeting with superintendents and holding public forums around the state to get ideas on how to improve Maine’s education system.
Today, he’ll meet with superintendents and curriculum coordinators from around the county over lunch prepared and served by students at the Hancock County Technical Center in Ellsworth.
He’ll spend the afternoon with students, teachers and the principal at Sumner Memorial High School in Sullivan. A public forum will be held Monday night at Ellsworth High School.
Bowen plans to visit all nine of the state’s superintendent regions during his first 100 days on the job.
