PRESQUE ISLE — Drug agents say two people from Michigan have been charged in Maine for allegedly selling prescription painkillers out of a motel room in Presque Isle.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency announced today that 26-year-old Jason Gill and 19-year-old Keisha Thomas of Detroit are charged with aggravated drug trafficking.

The DEA began investigating reports a few months ago that Gill had come to northern Maine several times to sell oxycodone.

Drug agents said they purchased 45 oxycodone tablets from Gill after he and Thomas arrived by bus and checked into a motel room Saturday night, and seized another 465 tablets upon returning with a search warrant.

Bail was set at $50,000 for Gill and $25,000 for Thomas. They are being held at the Aroostook County Jail.
