FORT MYERS, Fla. — In a time of year where quality starts are usually in short supply, Colby’s Connor Sullivan came through with a high-quality start. Sullivan tossed a four-hitter as the Mules (2-4) took a 5-1 win in the first part of a doubleheader against Manchester College of Indiana Monday. Nate Ellis drove in a pair of runs in the win before the Spartans (7-5) roared back for a 10-1 win in the nightcap.

Manchester pulled away in Game 2 with three runs in the fourth and four in the fifth.

ST. OLAF 2, USM 0: Joey Voss held the Huskies (5-4) to four hits in 71/3 innings to lead the Oles (8-1) at Winter Haven, Fla.

Brady Sand stole home in the fifth and Matt Kieffer added an RBI single in the sixth.

SOFTBALL

COLBY LOSES TWICE: Lindsay Roth struck out 10 and held the Mules (1-3) to a hit and two walks to lead Wellesley to a 6-1 win over Colby (4-1) at Clermont, Fla.

Brittany Bakacs doubled and drove in two for Wellesley.

Kelly Roth had an RBI single for Colby.

The Mules were also held to one hit in a 3-0 loss to Chicago.

BOWDOIN DROPS TWO: Molly Rathbun tossed a one-hitter and hit an RBI double in the first to lead Eastern Connecticut State (5-0) to a 1-0 win over Bowdoin (4-6), which also took a 4-2 loss to Wellesley (5-1) at Clermont, Fla.

Wellesley scored two runs in the fifth to break a 2-2 tie.

Jennifer Migliore scored on an error after stealing third and Megan Townsend doubled home Lauren Goldfarb.

Carey Correa had two hits and an RBI for the Polar Bears against Wellesley.
