Canadian singer-songwriter Neko Case will join Mavis Staples in concert on Thursday at Stone Mountain Arts Center in Brownfield.
English rocker Billy Bragg had been on the bill, but he canceled because of the death of his mother. Case is Grammy Award nominee, and should be a nice complement to Staples.
Staples is a member of the Staple Singers. She is a Lifetime Grammy Award winner and Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductee. Rolling Stone magazine named her one of its 100 greatest singers.
Showtime is 8 p.m. Thursday, and tickets cost $75. Visit www.stonemountainartscenter.com for details.
