In his last 11 games, veteran center Trent Whitfield, who spent six seasons with the Pirates when the team was affiliated with the Washington Capitals, has 11 goals and 8 assists. Goalie Anton Khudobin has started in 10 of the last 12 games, compiling a 2.40 goals-against average during that stretch. In his last three games, forward Kirk MacDonald has three goals.

PIRATES NOTES: The playoff-bound Pirates, who have won 7 of 10 games against Providence this season, are trying to halt a three-game losing skid. After missing one full game because of a bruised sternum, Luke Adam, who leads AHL rookies with 25 goals, is expected back in the lineup. Veteran right wing Mark Parrish carries a nine-game points streak into the game. In his last four games, forward Jacob Lagace has three goals and two assists.
