BRUINS NOTES: The Bruins have earned points in four of their last six games. In his last 11 games, veteran center Trent Whitfield, who spent six seasons with the Pirates when the team was affiliated with the Washington Capitals, has 11 goals and 8 assists. Goalie Anton Khudobin has started in 10 of the last 12 games, compiling a 2.40 goals-against average during that stretch. In his last three games, forward Kirk MacDonald has three goals.

PIRATES NOTES: The playoff-bound Pirates, who have won 7 of 10 games against Providence this season, are trying to halt a three-game losing skid. After missing one full game because of a bruised sternum, Luke Adam, who leads AHL rookies with 25 goals, is expected back in the lineup. Veteran right wing Mark Parrish carries a nine-game points streak into the game. In his last four games, forward Jacob Lagace has three goals and two assists.
