AUGUSTA  — Flags are flying at half-staff in honor of Maine Game Warden Daryl Gordon, who was killed last week in a plane crash on frozen Clear Lake in remote northern Maine.

A funeral service celebrating Gordon’s life is being held today at the Augusta Civic Center. A graveside service is being held in Saint Albans.

The 60-year-old Gordon was a 25-year veteran of the Maine Warden Service and had conducted numerous search-and-rescue missions during his career. An investigation into Thursday night’s crash is continuing.

Gov. Paul LePage has directed that U.S. and state of Maine flags be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset in remembrance and honor of Gordon.
