PORTLAND — A man wanted by police led them on a car chase and struck three vehicles before he was arrested this morning.

Rahim Faleh, 49, was wanted in connection with suspicious activity reported at PATHS on Allen Avenue. Staff reported seeing Faleh on school grounds although his bail conditions prohibit him from having contact with his children. Police said he was arrested in January after threatening to kill all five of his children.

Officers encountered Faleh this morning driving on Allen Avenue. Police said he fled as officers turned to approach him.

Faleh struck two cars in separate collisions near the Forest Avenue intersection and then continued outbound on Forest, where he struck the rear of an outbound box truck in the 1300 block, police said.

The truck rolled onto its side and went off the road, police said.

Faleh’s car was disabled and officers took him into custody without further incident, police said. Faleh and the driver of the truck suffered minor injuries.

Forest Avenue was closed between Warren Avenue and Hicks Street for several hours after the accidents.
