NORTHPORT — Authorities are searching a wooded area in Northport for additional evidence in the case of a missing Portland woman whose remains were discovered on the property earlier this month.

The partial skeletal remains of Elena Lozada, 24, were found on the property off Route 52 in Waldo County on April 17. Lozada had been reported missing in July.

The Portland Police Department, the lead agency in the case, and the state Medical Examiner’s Office were on the site to search several acres for clues. Maine State Police and the Maine Warden Service are assisting.
