FARMINGTON — Environmental activist Bill McKibben is going to deliver the commencement address at the University of Maine at Farmington.
The college says McKibben will also receive an honorary doctorate at the May 14 graduation ceremony, where some 435 students will be receiving degrees.
McKibben, who lives in Vermont, has written extensively about climate change and founded the environmental activist group called 350.org.
The university is also awarding an honorary degree to Maine artist Robert Shetterly, of Brooksville.
