PORTLAND — Zach Smith scored his first goal of the playoffs less than eight minutes into the third period to lift the Binghamton Senators to a 3-2 win against the Portland Pirates in the opener of their best-of-seven AHL Calder Cup series at the Cumberland County Civic Center Wednesday night.
Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals is at 7 tonight at the Cvic Center.
