GORHAM — Tucker White hit two home runs and knocked in eight runs to lead the University of Southern Maine baseball team to a 23-2 victory over Thomas on Tuesday.

White hit a three-run homer in the Huskies’ six-run second inning and a two-run shot in the third. He knocked in a run in the first on a sacrifice fly, one in the fifth with a fielder’s choice and another in the eighth with a single.

Forrest Chadwick, Nick Grady and Christian Hamilton also had three hits for Southern Maine (16-14), and David Ricker added a two-run homer.

Josh Nickerson had three hits and scored a run for the Terriers (12-23).

ST. JOSEPH’S 4, NORWICH 3: Mike Pratt’s sacrifice fly scored Nate Martin in the bottom of the seventh to lift the Monks (26-11, 12-2 GNAC) over the Cadets (1-26, 1-13) at Standish.

Martin started the winning rally with a single. Dan Achorn also drove in a run for St. Joseph’s, and Chris Dion closed out the game with two strikeouts in two shutout innings to earn the win.

BATES SWEEPS UM-FARMINGTON
: Griff Tewksbury had two hits with a home run and Mike Ciummei drove in three runs and scored once to lead the Bobcats (13-14) to a 12-2 victory over the Beavers (5-25) in the opener at Lewiston.

Chris Burke added three hits, one RBI and scored one run  for the Bobcats, and Kevin McGregor gave up one run in four innings to earn the win.

Bates completed the sweep with a 9-0 win behind two hits and three RBI from Ciummei and two RBI and two runs scored by Gordy Webb. Dean Bonneau, Demitrios Gatzogiannis and A.J. DeBenedictis combined to throw a two-hitter with seven strikeouts.

VERMONT TECH 5, SOUTHERN MAINE CC 4
: The Knights (17-13) scored five runs over the final two innings to rally past the Seawolves (10-17) at Concord, N.H.
Adam Hamilton and Scott Madden had two hits apiece to pace the Seawolves.

SOFTBALL

SOUTHERN MAINE CC SWEEPS VERMONT TECH: Kim Hunt’s no-hitter highlighted the Seawolves’ 10-1 victory in the first game at Concord, N.H.
Hunt followed with a two-hitter as SMCC (16-16) won the second game, 32-3.

MEN’S LACROSSE

ST. JOSEPH’S 10, BECKER 9: Zachary Chaisson scored with seven minutes left, capping a rally from a 9-7 deficit as the Monks (10-7) beat Becker (7-11) in a GNAC tournament quarterfinal at Portland.
Jake Ricciardi started the decisive run, converting Spencer Hunt’s assist with 9:24 to play. Chaisson then set up Paul Dolewa for the tying goal with 7:47 to play.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

BATES 18, ENDICOTT 6: Jenn Brallier scored four goals and the Bobcats (8-6) opened with an 8-0 run and cruised past the Gulls (11-6) at Beverly, Mass.

Joan O’Neill and Bridget Meedzan each added three goals for the Bobcats, and Jenna Dannis finished with two goals and two assists.
