Maineiacs fall into 3-0 playoff series hole as Sea Dogs pull away for a 5-2 victory

The Saint John Sea Dogs scored four second-period goals Tuesday night on the way to a 5-2 victory over the Lewiston Maineiacs in the QMJHL playoffs at Lewiston.

Jonathan Huberdeau tapped in Michael Kirkpatrick’s centering pass early in the second to ignite the rally and help Saint John take a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven semifinal series.

Kirill Kabanov scored Lewiston’s first goal with 8:37 left in the second, from Jess Tanguy. Christophe Lalonde got Lewiston’s second goal less than a minute into the third.
