PORTLAND – Westbrook scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning, then held off Portland for a 9-6 victory Wednesday in an SMAA softball game at Payson Park.

Kayla Winton hit an RBI triple and Katelyn Benson added an RBI single in the seventh for the Blue Blazes (1-1). Winton and Benson also hit back-to-back doubles in a three-run fifth.

Leanne Richert had three hits for the Bulldogs (0-2), including a leadoff homer in a four-run fourth and a run-scoring single in the seventh. Sydney Levesque had two hits.

 

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 8, YORK 2: Maggie Chaplin pitched a two-hitter with four walks and eight strikeouts as the Patriots (2-1) dominated the Wildcats (0-3) at York.

Marquis MacGlashing and Regan Heck each had a triple for the Wildcats.

YARMOUTH 7, WELLS 2: Suzanne Driscoll had a double and two singles, and knocked in one run as the Clippers (2-0) rallied past the Warriors (1-1) at Yarmouth.

Monica Link hit a two-run double in the first inning to give Wells a 2-0 lead.

 

SOUTH PORTLAND 10, DEERING 0: Erin Bogdanovich pitched a two-hitter, struck out 11 and walked six to lead the Red Riots (3-0) to a win over the Rams (1-2) at South Portland.

South Portland’s Danica Gleason drove in four runs on two hits, including a two-run triple in the first inning.

GORHAM 7, MASSABESIC 4: Taylor Hansen singled to drive in Leaha Keene with the go-ahead run as the Rams (2-0) scored twice in the sixth and seventh to rally past the Mustangs (0-3) at Waterboro.

Massabesic erased a 3-0 deficit with four runs in the fifth inning when Amber Libby hit a three-run triple and scored on a throwing error.

 

FALMOUTH 4, FREEPORT 1: Sarah Collmus gave up one run and struck out seven in 61/3 innings as Falmouth (1-1) beat the visiting Falcons (1-2).

Leigh Wyman struck out six and walked one while throwing a four-hitter for Freeport. She also had three hits, including an RBI double in the seventh inning.

SCARBOROUGH 16, NOBLE 6: Alyssa Williamson hit a grand slam in the second inning and an RBI double in the third to lead the Red Storm (2-0) past Noble (1-2) at Scarborough.

Marisa O’Toole drove in four runs for Scarborough.

 

SANFORD 11, BONNY EAGLE 5: Christine Tovey hit a three-run homer and Kellie Tovey added a two-run homer during a six-run fifth inning, helping Sanford (2-1) beat the Scots (0-2) at Standish.

Lindsay Somerset had a two-run single for Bonny Eagle.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 5, CAPE ELIZABETH 0: Carla Tripp had four hits, scored three runs and stole two bases to lead the Raiders (3-0) over the Capers (0-1) at Fryeburg.

Sarah Harriman and Charlotte Lewis combined on a five-hitter with eight strikeouts.

 

SACOPEE VALLEY 15, TRAIP ACADEMY 0: Liz Moulton pitched a five-inning no-hitter with four strikeouts, and the Hawks (2-0) rolled past the Rangers (0-2) at Kittery.

Stephanie Mullins had two hits, including a three-run homer, and Chelsea Burnell scored four runs.

BIDDEFORD 5, WINDHAM 0: Sarah Gilblair pitched a five-hitter with no walks and 11 strikeouts, leading the Tigers (3-0) past the Eagles (0-2) at Biddeford.

Biddeford took a 3-0 lead in the first inning when Kristina McCurry hit a two-run single and Alyssa Baldino drew a bases-loaded walk.

 

LAKE REGION 15, POLAND 6: Kristina Morton had four hits and the Lakers (1-1) used a seven-run seventh inning to pull away from the Knights (0-3) at Poland.

Brittina Maheux, Katie Love and Lindsay Therriault had two hits each for Poland.

KENNEBUNK 9, CHEVERUS 4: Corinne Burns and Hannah King homered, and King pitched a four-hitter and struck out nine to lead the Rams (1-1) past the Stags (0-2) at Portland.

Katie Roy had two hits and three RBI for Cheverus.

 

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 12, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 0: Anna Foss had two doubles as the Seagulls (1-0) beat the Panthers (0-2) at Yarmouth. Gillian Foss pitched a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts and two walks.

CONY 10, MT. ARARAT 4: Emily Soule allowed seven hits, struck out seven and walked two, leading Cony (4-0) over Mt. Ararat (2-3) at Topsham.

Taylor Pare drove in two runs on three hits for Mt. Ararat.

 

MEDOMAK VALLEY 18, WATERVILLE 2: Desiree Benner and Alana Vose each knocked in three runs, and Medomak Valley (3-0) scored 16 runs in the first inning and beat Waterville (0-3) at Waldoboro.
