BELFAST — A former Maine music teacher has been found guilty of unlawful sexual contact with a 12-year-old girl seven years ago.

A Waldo County Superior Court jury found 41-year-old William Wiley guilty Wednesday night of 10 counts of unlawful sexual contact against a child. He was found not guilty of gross sexual assault.

According to the Bangor Daily News, the victim, who is now 20, testified during the two-day trial that Wiley abused her almost nightly over a six-month period in 2004 while she was a family member living in his home. Wiley adamantly denied the charges, but jurors viewed a police videotape that showed him confessing to abusing the girl.

Wiley used to be a music teacher at Searsport Elementary School.
