BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — Veteran defenseman Tim Conboy scored on a shot from the top of the slot with 12 seconds left to lift the Portland Pirates to a 3-2 win against the Binghamton Senators in Game 3 of their AHL Atlantic Division semifinal series at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.

It was the first win of the series for the Pirates after losing the first two games at home.

The Pirates took a 1-0 lead in the first period on defenseman Brian O’Hanley’s first AHL playoff goal, but the Senators moved into the lead on second-period goals by Ryan Keller and Kaspars Daugavins.

Derek Whitmore tied the score with less than six minutes left in the third period.
