Registration for Sanford Babe Ruth League will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Goodall Park. The registration fee is $75 for Sanford/Springvale residents and $90 for nonresidents. Long jump and triple jump clinics for boys and girls in grades 5 through 8 will be held Saturday at Thornton Academy. Clinicians will include George Mendros, Thornton Academy boys’ track coach, and Carl Smith, Thornton’s assistant coach. These clinics are for both newcomers and experienced jumpers. Twilight Baseball League tryouts for all six teams in the league will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, at Frozen Ropes Training Center & Portland Sports Complex on Warren Avenue. There is a $10 tryout fee. The league is open to any player who turns 19 by Aug. 1 or has spent the 2010-11 academic year in college or prep school.
