• Melissa Cilley joined the Susan L. Curtis Foundation as executive director.

Cilley was most recently an associate with the law firm Drummond Woodsum. She also has worked as a teacher and the director of a nonprofit and has more than 20 years experience in education law, nonprofit management and advocacy for children.

Jeffrey Nutter joined Patriot Insurance Co. as commercial lines underwriter II. Nutter has several years experience in the industry.

Sara Hirshon joined Verrill Dana LLP as an associate in its litigation and trial group. Hirshon will work in the firm’s Boston and Portland offices.

She was previously a commercial litigation associate with firms in Boston and Philadelphia.

Dennis Dalton joined Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution as a loan officer in the residential-consumer lending department.

Dalton, of Biddeford, previously was director of sales, service and operations for a major international distributor and manufacturer of health care and dental products.

Ryan Wrisley joined Berry Dunn McNeil & Parker, CPAs and Management Consultants as a senior consultant.

Wrisley will work in the government consulting group at Berry Dunn. He was previously with Tyler Technologies.

Frank Dumais joined Northeast Bank as a new mortgage loan officer in its Scarborough insurance office.

Dumais, of Saco, has more than 40 years experience in dealing with the real estate industry.

Patricia M. Hannigan was named store manager of TD Bank’s location on Tibbetts Drive in Brunswick.

Hannigan, of Portland, has 17 years of experience in retail and commercial banking. She most recently was branch manager at Town & Country Federal Credit Union in Portland.

Steve Greve and Ana Freitas were hired by Tilson Technology Management in Portland as consultants and members of its wireless and telecommunications group.

Andrea Handel joined Spectrum Generations Southern Midcoast Community Center in Topsham as a consumer information specialist. She has worked in the human services field for nearly 30 years.

Jan Nelson joined Martin’s Point as vice president of delivery system operations, specialties and ancillaries.

Montemurro has more than 26 years of experience in the lending industry.

Tekia Moore joined Androscoggin Head Start and Child Care as a site supervisor.

Kenneth Giaquinto was named relationship manager for Key@Work, a program of KeyBank that provides free and discounted banking services to companies to offer its employees as part of their benefits package.

Brian Bakke joined Northcross Group as a business development manager.

Bakke has nearly 10 years of experience as an account executive in the telecommunications and Internet technology consulting industries.

Grant was promoted to a commercial lines senior field manager. She joined the company in June 2008.

Caswell was promoted to a commercial lines senior field manager. She has been with the company since June 2007.

Anneke MacIsaac was promoted to site supervisor at Androscoggin Head Start and Child Care.

MacIsaac was the agency’s literacy specialist for the Early Reading First Grant.

Lt. Wallace N. Veilleux Jr. of the Lewiston Fire Department was promoted to the rank of fire captain.

AWARDS & RECOGNITION

Sandy Legendre and Wanda Chelate were honored by Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution as co-recipients of the 2010 A. William Kany Community Service Award.

For about seven years, Legendre and Chelate have teamed up to provide breakfast once a month at Portland’s Ronald McDonald House.

Scott Rousseau, owner of Play It Again Sports in Portland, recently received a Sales Excellence Award at the sporting goods reseller’s 2011 Winter Conference and Trade Show in Las Vegas.

L-A Harley in Lewiston received the Harley-Davidson Motor Co.’s Gold Bar & Shield Circle of Excellence Award.

The award is given to the top four Harley-Davidson dealerships in the Northeast region. L-A Harley earned the award based on its motorcycle and related product sales performance.

The American Red Cross in Portland presented FairPoint Communications with the Life Share Program Platinum Level Achievement Recognition for outstanding employee participation in supporting blood drives.

In December, FairPoint created Bundle Up Blood Drive — a super blood drive held in Bangor and Portland that collected 592 units of blood. The drive was the largest one-day holiday collection in Maine Red Cross history.

Town & Country Federal Credit Union recently received a Diamond Award, which recognizes outstanding marketing achievement in the credit union industry.

Town & Country won the Social Media category for its entry, the Better Neighbor Fund charitable giving campaign.

Chelsea Fournier won the “Launch L/A!” young entrepreneur contest.

Fournier will receive nearly $100,000 in cash and in-kind services for her business venture, Lifestyles Massage, which will focus on the sustainability of health, the local economy and the environment.

GENERAL

Dr. Ronald Cedrone, an optometrist who has practiced in Greater Portland for several years, has opened an independent practice at 335 Maine Mall Road, South Portland. He is accepting new and prior patients on an appointment or walk-in basis.

David Hanson, a client relationship manager with Innovative Insurance Solutions in Portland, was appointed a producer for life and disability insurance in the state of Maine.
