ORONO — Sen. Susan Collins is delivering the commencement address at today’s University of Maine’s graduation ceremonies.

The state’s largest university is holding its commencement at the Harold Alfond Arena on the school’s campus in Orono.

Graduates from the College of Business, Public Policy and Health; the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; and the Division of Lifelong Learning are receiving their degrees in a morning ceremony. An afternoon ceremony is being held for graduates from the College of Education and Human Development; the College of Engineering; and the College of Natural Sciences, Forestry and Agriculture.

In all, 2,123 students are getting degrees this spring. The school is also awarding honorary doctorates to Collins and Peter Vigue, the chairman and CEO of Pittsfield-based Cianbro construction company.
