FRYEBURG – Joey King singled home the tying run with two outs in the seventh inning, then scored the winning run on Ryan Cody’s line single to right as unbeaten Yarmouth beat Fryeburg Academy 9-8 in a Western Maine Conference baseball game Saturday.

Bryce Snyder reached on an error to start the winning rally. King also had a three-run homer for the Clippers (6-0).

Ian MacFawn drove home five runs on four hits for Fryeburg (1-7), which widened a 3-2 lead to 6-2 with a three-run second, highlighted by MacFawn’s RBI single.

Yarmouth pulled within 6-5 on King’s fourth-inning homer, then took a 7-6 fifth-inning lead when Snyder doubled home the tying run before scoring the go-ahead run.

But MacFawn’s two-run double in the bottom of the fifth put Fryeburg ahead, 8-7.

GREELY 13, FALMOUTH 3: Liam Maker and Bailey Train each had three hits and an RBI to lead Greely (6-1) over Falmouth (3-2) in six innings at Cumberland.

Maker scored three runs and Train had two for the Rangers. Brad McKenney chipped in a double and two RBI against the Yachtsmen.

 

CAPE ELIZABETH 10, LAKE REGION 0: Rob Macdonald pitched a three-hitter, and went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBI to help the Capers (5-0) down the Lakers (1-5) in five innings at Cape Elizabeth.

Macdonald struck out five and walked one. Kyle Danielson was 2 for 2 with a triple, two RBI and two runs, and Derek Roberts hit a two-run double for the Capers.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 11, SACOPEE VALLEY 4: Eli Leavitt hit a two-run double to lead the Panthers (3-1) against the Hawks (0-6) at Yarmouth.

Leavitt, Ben Coleman and Harry Fast combined on a four-hitter for NYA.

 

PORTLAND 3, BIDDEFORD 2: Tim Rovnak and Nate Smart hit RBI singles in the seventh inning to lift the Bulldogs (4-3) over the Tigers (5-2) at Portland.

Nick Volger started the rally with a walk and a stolen base. He also had two hits, including an RBI single in the second.

Caleb Fraser pitched a five-hitter for the win. He struck out six and walked three.

Biddeford got an RBI double in the second from Nate McKeown and an RBI single in the third from Taylor Reuillard.

 

SCARBOROUGH 4, GORHAM 1: Kyle Kelley’s two-run sixth-inning single widened a 1-0 lead to 3-0 as Scarborough (6-1) pulled away from the Rams (1-6) at Gorham.

Joe Cronin’s sacrifice fly gave the Red Storm a 1-0 lead in the first.
